Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using MeetSkillo (the “Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service. MeetSkillo, Inc. (“MeetSkillo,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) reserves the right to update these Terms at any time with notice to you.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. Parents or guardians may create accounts on behalf of minors to enroll them in classes. By using the Service, you represent that you meet these requirements.

3. Account Registration

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account. MeetSkillo is not liable for any loss resulting from unauthorized use of your account.

4. Student Terms

• You may browse and enroll in classes as a student. Enrollment requires payment in full at the time of booking.
• By enrolling, you commit to attending the scheduled class(es). No-shows may forfeit the session fee.
• Cancellations made at least 24 hours before a session may be eligible for a refund or credit at the instructor's discretion.
• You agree to treat instructors and other students with respect, both online and in person.

5. Instructor Terms

• Instructors are independent contractors, not employees of MeetSkillo. You are responsible for your own taxes, insurance, and compliance with applicable laws.
• You represent that you have the qualifications, certifications, and legal right to teach the classes you list.
• You agree to background verification as required by MeetSkillo.
• MeetSkillo collects a platform fee (currently 15%) on each transaction. Payouts are processed weekly via Stripe.
• You are responsible for fulfilling classes as described. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours notice may result in student refunds charged against your account.
• You may not solicit students off-platform to circumvent MeetSkillo's fees.

6. Payments and Refunds

All payments are processed securely via Stripe. MeetSkillo does not store full payment card information. Refunds are subject to the instructor's cancellation policy displayed on the class listing. In cases of instructor no-shows or platform errors, MeetSkillo will issue a full refund at its discretion. Disputed charges should be directed to billing@meetskillo.com.

7. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

• Post false, misleading, or fraudulent class listings.
• Harass, abuse, or threaten other users.
• Violate any applicable law or regulation.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or other user accounts.
• Use the Service to transmit spam or malicious content.
• Circumvent MeetSkillo's payment system.
• Scrape or data-mine the Service without written permission.

8. Content and Intellectual Property

You retain ownership of content you submit (class descriptions, photos, reviews). By submitting content, you grant MeetSkillo a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, display, and distribute that content in connection with the Service. MeetSkillo's platform, trademarks, and proprietary content remain the exclusive property of MeetSkillo, Inc.

9. Disclaimers

MeetSkillo is a marketplace platform. We do not employ instructors and are not responsible for the quality, safety, or outcomes of any class. The Service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee the accuracy of class listings or instructor credentials beyond our verification process.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, MeetSkillo shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid to MeetSkillo in the 12 months preceding the claim.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account for violation of these Terms, with or without notice. You may close your account at any time by contacting us. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Sections that by their nature should survive termination will do so.

12. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, USA. Any disputes will be resolved through binding arbitration in Austin, Texas, except where prohibited by law. You waive the right to participate in class-action lawsuits against MeetSkillo.
